Junior Netball Trials
NOTE: 17U trials will commence FOR all players (new to club and new to Saturday) on Thursday 11 Feb. See full details below!
Welcome to the 2016 junior netball season. We will have two Saturday teams playing GFL and one to two Friday night graded teams selected from these trials in all age groups. Players can opt to try out for the Friday night team only. Players who miss out on final round of selection for a Saturday team will be offered a place in the graded Friday night team.
Age groups are as follows including 1 January through to 31 December –
11/U 2005 – 2006
13/U 2004 – 2003
15/U 2002 – 2001
17/U 2000 – 1999
Please note players will be placed within teams in their correct age group unless there is extenuating circumstances and space.
Players who want to play Friday night and DO NOT want to play in a graded Friday night team, DO NOT need to register for trials. For players eligible to play 11U in 2016 we will not be holding trials we will have a couple of skills sessions from which we will select our graded team/s.
Junior Netball Trials will commence this Sunday 7 February at Kardinia Park Netball Courts for those players who did not play in a Saturday team for St Mary’s Sporting Club (SMSC) in 2015 and for players that are new to our Club. To participate in any trials players must first register using our online form.
Those players who have played in a Saturday team for SMSC in 2015 (regardless of age group) will attend their first trial on Thursday 11 February.
Players should wear a white t-shirt and dark shorts or short compression pants. We need to be able to write on the players leg so please do not wear long full length pants. Players should wear sunscreen and bring a drink bottle and towel to each session.

Round One
Sunday 7 February – SMSC New players and new to Saturday (did not play in any Saturday team at St Mary’s in 2015)
13/U trials – Check-in at 8:45am. Trials commence at 9 -10:30am
15/U trials – Check-in at 10:15am. Trials commence at 10:30am – 12pm
Round Two
Thursday 11 February – Players selected from Round One and players who played in a Saturday team for St Mary’s in 2015
13/U trials – Check-in at 3:45pm. Trials commence at 4 – 5pm
15/U trials – Check-in at 4:45pm. Trials commence at 5 – 6pm
17/U trials – Check-in at 4:45pm. Trials commence at 5 – 6pm FOR PLAYERS INTENDING TO TRIAL!
Round Three
Sunday 14 February – All players selected from Round two
13/U trials – Check-in at 8:45am. Trials commence at 9 -10:30am
15/U trials – Check-in at 10:15am. Trials commence at 10:30am – 12pm
17/U trials – Check-in at 10:15am. Trials commence at 10:30am – 12pm
Squad announcements
Training will commence for all squads on Thursday 18 Feb and continue weekly until the start of the season. Saturday team final teams announced Friday 26 February. Friday graded teams announced Friday 26 February.
