Junior Football May Update – Season highlights and more
🏉 Our junior football program is off to a flying start in 2025, with strong participation, great coaching, and plenty of community support! 🏉
✅ Early Season Highlights
- U9, U10, and U12 teams have hit the ground running, with two rounds complete and everything running smoothly thanks to committed coaches and team managers.
- Under 14 and 16 jumper presentation and parent info night was a huge success, with great feedback from families – thanks to Scotty and Hammy for making it happen!
- All three U14 teams have started strong with a fantastic group of kids, coaches, and families. A big shout out to Ben Jarman, who’s doing a top job as age group coordinator.
- U16s are off to a solid start and are working through grading matches. Thanks to Tony Lee for all of his hard work.
👏 Special Thanks
- Matty Leith for sorting bibs, cones, and equipment tubs for our juniors.
- Jock for building extra goalposts – they’ll be put to use this weekend at Friers.

We’re excited to welcome a fantastic group of new coaches to the junior program:

🔍 Key updates and callouts
- Mother’s Day Training Night (now Thursday, 15 May)
- Big Freeze — Team Sock Sponsorship. We’re nearly there, with only a few teams still needing sponsorship for their team MND socks!
- Concussion Professional Development — an opportunity for all parents and players. Details to come.
- Senior players are providing — Thanks to Scotty for driving this initiative.
- Wellbeing Officer volunteer — We are seeking a couple of nominations for our junior football Wellbeing Officers. Andrea Douglas leads a team of volunteers. Anyone interested should contact me.
Wrap-up
