Colts Summer Training and Coach appointed

Pre season Training dates – 4.45pm start time

· Wednesday 2nd December
· Wednesday 9th December
· Wednesday 16th December

St Mary’s is pleased to announce that Marty Christensen has been appointed as Coach for the St Marys Colts next season.

Marty has been involved with the juniors at the club for a number of years, coaching at U16 and U14 levels over the last 3 years. He knows all of the boys coming up from the U16 group this season, and he is very much looking forward to meeting those of you who he doesn’t  know as yet.

It has been a busy time for many of you with VCE exams just completed (and probably Schoolies), Year 10 exams soon to begin, summer sports, part-time work, driving lessons, etc… however we thought it would be great to have a few light training sessions prior to Christmas over the next 3 Wednesday nights, commencing next Wednesday 2nd December. The sessions are to start at 4:45pm sharp and finish around 6:00pm. The aim of these sessions will primarily be for Marty to get to know as many of you as he can, and get an idea of the size of our list, and the number of teams we will have for next year. Players can expect some light running and skills sessions. So basically the 3 training sessions will be on the following dates:

· Wednesday 2nd December
· Wednesday 9th December
· Wednesday 16th December

We encourage any parents that can help with training to come along as well.

For those of you who have been training with the St Marys Senior group over the last few weeks, you are welcome to continue to train with that group once we have finished – perhaps we can encourage a few more to join in. Also, we are aware that there are a number of St Marys Colts players training with the Geelong Falcons Squad over Summer, and obviously would expect that you would continue to train there on Wednesday nights.

If you can’t make training prior to Christmas, or you may not be intending to play next year Marty would appreciate a phone call to discuss

Look forward to seeing many of you next Wednesday – and please spread the word to any of the boys you run into!
