Supporting our players – health and wellbeing

This week, we want to remind all players and families that St Mary’s Sporting Club has a dedicated Health and Wellbeing contact in Andrea Douglas, who is here to support you.

We recognise that life can be challenging at times. Between sport, work, study and personal commitments, pressures can build quickly, and it is not always easy to navigate them on your own.

As a club, our priority is our people. We are committed to supporting our players in staying connected, engaged, and well, both on and off the field.

While Andrea is not a clinical provider, she offers a trusted, confidential point of contact. She can listen, provide guidance, and help connect you with appropriate local support services if needed.

You might choose to reach out about an injury and how it is affecting you, something happening in your personal life, or simply if you are feeling overwhelmed. No issue is too small.

At times of stress, having someone to talk to can make a real difference. Even knowing someone is there and can check in with you can help ease the load.

We also understand that accessing professional support can sometimes feel difficult or unclear. Andrea can help guide you to the right services and support pathways.

If you would like to connect, you are encouraged to reach out at any time. All conversations will be treated with the highest level of confidentiality.

Andrea can be contacted on 0409 405 017 or via email at andrea@geelongot.com.au.
