Junior Football COVID-19 Protocols Update – 23/07/20
Thanks for all the work our volunteers have put in to get junior games off the ground last week, judging by the smiles, we are all happy to have footy back!
As you are all aware, we are bound by protocols set by AFL Victoria to ensure that we are operating at best practice to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
Going into Round Two we need to remain vigilant and ask that you all follow the rules below:
HOME GAMES
- Players should arrive to their game no earlier than ½ an hour prior to the commencement of their game and must remain in their car until the prior game has finished.
- There are to be no players on the ground warming up at ¾ time or after the prior match until all players from the previous match have left the ground
- Only those essential for participation should attend the match and remain in their vehicles (this means one person per player) This applies to other parents, siblings and other family or friends as is in accordance with rules set by AFL Barwon.
- The area in front of the clubrooms will be roped off and only accessed by players and team officials – no parents or spectators will be allowed in this area at any time.
- HOME team bags and belongings can be placed under the North end of the new verandah (near the canteen entry)
- AWAY team bags and belongings can be placed under the South end of the new verandah (near Kardinia Pool)
- There is NO access to change rooms or the clubrooms. Players should bring 1-2 water bottles filled with water already to avoid using toilets to fill bottles.
- Players and officials from both teams will have access to the external toilets between the change rooms, parents/spectators must use the public toilets near the netball courts.
- Spectators cannot be on the ground before, during or after the game, nor near the coach’s box. Spectators should remain in their cars at all times.
- Timekeeping and siren will be done by the HOME team, our timekeeping box is too small to adhere to social distancing rules. The AWAY timekeeper will need to sit external to our timekeepers box.
FRIER RESERVE
- We understand that there is very limited viewing space from vehicles at Frier Reserve, unfortunately, this is not something we can control.
- Despite this, spectators cannot gather around the boundary of the ground in groups, if you have to leave your vehicle to watch the game, you must adhere to social distancing rules at all times to keep everybody safe.
- Players should arrive to their game no earlier than ½ an hour prior to the commencement of their game and must remain in their car until the prior game has finished.
- There are to be no players on the ground warming up at ¾ time or after the prior match until all players from the previous match have left the ground
- HOME team parents should park closer to West Fyans Street and AWAY team parents should park closer to the cricket nets to help keep groups distanced from one another.
- Due to the limited undercover space at this ground, all players are encouraged to leave their belongings in their car
- There is NO access to change rooms or the clubrooms. Players should bring 1-2 water bottles filled with water already to avoid using toilets to fill bottles.
- Players, officials and spectators from both teams must use the public toilets, the toilets in the clubrooms will not be accessible.
- Spectators cannot be on the ground before, during or after the game, nor near the coach’s box. Spectators should remain in their cars at all times.
- Timekeepers from both teams will be socially distanced from one another in the roped off zone.
We appreciate your cooperation in following these steps so that we can continue to host football games in a safe and compliant way.
