GFNL 2026 Fixture confirmed after League Review
AFL Barwon has released an updated 2026 Geelong Football Netball League (GFNL) fixture following recent developments among clubs in the competition.
After careful consultation with all clubs, including understanding the implications of Lara Football Netball Club’s senior football situation, the league has agreed on a 20-round home-and-away season.
This structure has been designed to ensure fairness, competitive balance and equity across all senior football and netball grades:

Senior & Reserve football, A Grade netball and E Grade netball will play 18 matches each, with two byes integrated into the draw.

Adjustments have been made in other netball grades to balance home and away matches.
Importantly for St Mary’s members and players, the season will now kick off on Saturday 11 April 2026, one week earlier than initially announced. Finals dates and the finals format remain unchanged from previous communications.
